Abstract

Dr. Katie Hildebrand, Assistant Professor of Education at Juniata College, welcomes the class of 2028 by reflecting on her time at Juniata College and the impact her professors and community had on her future. At first, Hildebrand did not want to leave for college and was motivated by receiving an A in class. However, her time at Juniata taught her the value of learning, hard work, and deep thinking outside the grade and inspired her to become a professor, a path she had never previously imagined for herself.
