Abstract

Dr. Dolan, a distinguished professor of intelligence and security studies, offers insights into the resurgence of Cold War dynamics. Drawing on extensive experience in the Balkans, particularly Kosovo, Dr. Dolan analyzes evolving global power dynamics, focusing on the U.S., China, and Russia. The talk looks at the parallels between historical events and contemporary geopolitical trends, including technological competition, democratic erosion in the U.S., and regional tensions in the Indo-Pacific and Eastern Europe. Critiquing the militarization of economies and strategic alliances, Dr. Dolan ultimately rounds out his talk by concluding that the urgency of addressing existential threats like climate change while advocating for peacebuilding and global cooperation is a necessity for all nations.
