Julia Marton-Lefèvre, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Alliance of Biodiversity and CIAT, explains the importance of systems thinking and systems leadership for a just green transition. The social and environmental issues plaguing the world today are interconnected, although people and organizations often silo them, failing to think of the whole system and therefore failing to solve the problem. Bringing experience from many places, cultures, and leadership positions, Marton-Lefèvre encourages us to be a global citizen, understand others’ cultures, languages, and to think interdisciplinary, all of which is necessary in solving the climate crisis. This is the first presentation of a six-presentation series titled “Toward Environmental Justice: Transition to a Sustainable Future.”
