Abstract

Dr. Jim Rice, Walter S. Dixon Professor of English and American History at Tufts University, explores the historical relationships between the Cree, French colonization, Québécois nationalism, the state-owned Hydro Quebec company, and the environment. He follows this network of connections to the present day, revealing how the various parties have adapted, grown, and transformed. Finally, he approaches the topic from a local and global perspective, asking us to consider our place in the network.
